Might not be everybody’s taste, but this place would be ideal if you are a person who needs a secluded space to connect with the inner self and a person who is keen towards the history and culture of the space where you are living in. This place has a story to tell you about predator and prey, about colonisation, urban development, and about something that is lost in transition. The birdcage installation in Angel Place commemorates “Forgotten Songs” of fifty birds once heard before the settlement of Europeans. The urban development made them homeless. There are around 120 suspended bird cages in the laneway with recordings of extinct or threatened bird species. The installation addresses the issue of climate change and not-so organised urban renewal. It evokes the need for co-existence and mutually beneficial association.

Have an Amazing Tour around Sydney and Mauritius.

Travelling around the world requires energy that is unfathomable, and that acts as a solid cultural investment. Here is a description about two wonderful destinations I travelled before the pandemic consumed the globe.

Sydney is often recognised as a wonderland with many distinctive destinations that can captivate seekers’ attention. Sydney, the capital of the state of New South Wales will never disappoint its visitors. Sydney is recognised as one of Australia’s largest cities, popular for many Harbour attractions and world famous cruise operators.

Sydney Harbour is where most of the best and unparalleled views of Sydney lie. There are many outstanding architectural wonders like Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House along with popular tourist locations such as Luna Park, Royal Botanic Garden, and so on. There are many lunch cruises in  Sydney offering high quality restaurant style dining experience and amazing harbour views.

Get on board an authentic paddle wheeler that has a dining saloon with a theatre style layout and imbued with an old world charm. The cruise includes individual reserved tables and a one hour cabaret show called the ‘Voyage of Love’ by an Australian cast. You can enjoy a 3 course seated and served menu along with seasonal fruit platters. You can taste your favourite Australian red and white sparklings, beers, and soft drinks from the fully licensed bar on board. If you have never been to a cruising restaurant, I think you should definitely try this opportunity at least once. Because you can have the best of a sydney harbour lunch cruise, high quality restaurant style dinner and a spectacular show in the same package. Catch sight of the Sydney Harbour wonders from the wrap around verandas while you cruise past the most scenic route. Try to click some amazing photographs from the picturesque background and share it with your friends and family.

The next location is Mauritius, one of the beautiful Indian Ocean Island nations well known for its beaches and lagoons. It is a muti-ethnic society where people live harmoniously. Sagar Shiv Mandir Temple is one of the popular temples in Mauritius.

Researching a country’s history, culture, and cuisine before going for a trip might be time consuming but a worthy investment.

The local guides who are well versed in the history and culture taught me about the condition of Indian slaves in Mauritius during the colonial era and slave trade along with its national history. The Indian Hindus started worshipping their God from then and now, Mauritius has some amazing sets of Hindu temples. We walked around Sagar Shiv Mandir. There is no entry fee. You can simply walk in and can enjoy its serenity. It has deities like Lord Shiv, Hanuman, and goddess Lakshmi to worship.

Listen Indians, there is an important thing to remember…You don’t need a visa to stay in Mauritius. The local Indians in Mauritius said to me that Indians can visit Mauritius even without a visa. But not more than 60 days. Make sure about the visa policies. I think you guys can come and explore Mauritius easily.

Try to travel and visit as many places as possible. Local histories and stories can teach us about the natives, their lifestyle, and ethnicity. I have learned so much from them. You can also meet some amazing set of humans who are more compassionate, honest, open, and joyful from your journeys. Every person is an abundance of knowledge. Everyone can teach you something.

Some Places to have fun on a New year’s Eve

Hello my folks!

Welcome back to my Sydney Stories.

Well, well well… I have something that is so overwhelming to tell you.

I am literally amazed by your response to my writings. I was doubting myself but you guys proved that I’m wrong. Thank you for all those amazing responses. Many of you asked why I am so into Sydney and enquired what that is so consumes me in Sydney. Some of them (those recent followers in the list) checked my tour history and requested me to tell something about my first trip experiences. Yeah… Sure. Why not?!

So today’s blog is a walk through my memories… Recollections or glimpses from my first trip experience. Those who came late to my space and really wanted to explore more… This is for you.

Sydney, the Capital of New South Wales

Yaas! Sydney, the capital of the state of New South Wales was my first and the most favourite trip (now you know… Sydney is more like a first-born!). I was flown to Sydney with my school besties when I was 20 (I was a travel enthusiast from a very young age). It was for a New Year’s Day party (2006, I guess. Huh… Did I just reveal my age?! Damn! I was not planning to). Well, we had spent almost a week in the Sydney domain. Believe me, the New Year’s Eve fireworks cruise in Sydney Harbour was the best I had so far. We get onboard in an authentic paddle wheeler that has a spectacular cabaret show by an Australian cast. It was an all inclusive package, I remember. We had cruise, entertainment, amazing Sydney Harbour views, fun, deluxe five course dinner, and drinks from that New Year’s Eve cruise around Sydney Harbour. If you haven’t been to Sydney, grab your seats for the next New Year’s Eve party. So, Sydney is all about fireworks, colours, entertainment, the blue ocean, sunshine, cruising restaurants, and fun for me (honestly, which is unique and unequalled).

The Island of Mauritius

Have you ever been to Mauritius? Mauritius is an Indian Ocean Island nation well-known for its beaches, coloured sand, cultural diversity, colonial history and so on. I spent almost a month on this rich island as part of an NGO campaigning that I am very proud about. I got a chance to hang out with a set of cool, serene people. We all visited Chamarel Coloured Earth Geopark in Mauritius. Amazed? Well…Continue! It is a natural phenomenon which is very unique to the land of Mauritius. Some reaction between basaltic lava to clay minerals resulted in this phenomenon which turned out to be one of the main tourist attractions in Mauritius. It is a small area of sand with seven different colours. But the visitors are not allowed to play with this coloured Earth. But you can definitely play with some giant tortoises who are roaming around the adjacent playground. There is a lot more to tell about the Mauritius trip. Maybe I can write something later about the whole Mauritius thing without fail (I promise! I’m not lying).

I was thinking about how privileged I am to travel around the globe, to have money to spend on, to taste distinct signature cuisine of many continents and countries, to have some amazing set of new travel buddies, and all. It is okay if you haven’t outpoured the energy of a travel enthusiast in you. Because, I am damn sure of the fact that if you are a travel enthusiast, you will not be in that state of hibernation for so long. You can definitely explore the world that you are longing to.

If you are not that into a solo trip, and have no hesitation to have a travel partner, try adding someone who is not privileged as you are for the next time. I promise the trip will be a memorable one. Share love my folks.

I will catch you later…

See You!

Planning a Summer in Sydney? The Domain is Waiting for You!

Hello friends across the globe!
Are you people in hibernation? Well, I’m not. I am in Sydney enjoying the pleasant, peaceful summer days of the season. So, today I am planning to share some insights I have regarding how to spend a quality time in the Sydney summer.
Welcome back to my Sydney Stories!

Dine out on a cruise
Of course… It is Christmas here! If you are planning to fly across the sea to have an extraordinary Christmas Day celebration in Sydney, I can help you to choose one. There are various Christmas party venues in Sydney you can go around from 5 star rooftop bars, super luxurious restaurants, and to harbour cruises. Enjoying a gripping season in a cruising restaurant with family and friends, all partying and enjoying together with high quality dining set up and freshly prepared menu is like a “plan”. In Sydney Harbour, there is a wide variety of Christmas party cruises in Sydney Harbour. If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, choose the famous showboat Christmas party deluxe dinner or buffet lunch 3 hour cruise at the harbour. The dining saloon with a theatre style layout and its 1 hour long cabaret show with harbour views are actually a delight. If you are looking for extra fun, you should go and get a ticket.

Cool off at Bondi Beach
Grab all your necessary items such as towel, shower gel etc. and head to Bondi Beach when you need a break. Summer is the best time to enjoy the Sydney beaches. You can feel the golden sand between your toes all cooling and refreshing both your mind and body. You will definitely get to know about the marine lifestyle and livelihood. Bondi Beach will definitely let you bask in the weather. The warm pristine bleached stretch of sand and the refreshing serene beach water made Bondi beach as one of the national heritage sites of Australia. You also have to remember that Bondi beach is not always about beach water and bleached sand, it has some amazing sets of high quality restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and cultural centers to have fun with.

Interested in Manly Beach?
Around a 30 minute ride from the Circular Quay can lead you to Manly Wharf, one of the best in the Harbour City, the site that is perfect to laze in the sun. I bet it will definitely be a part of the adventure, a quintessential experience! Go for a dip in the gentle harbourside waters of Manly Cove and then head through the historic Corso to Manly Beach. If you have never been to surfing; believe me, it is the time. There is a famous Manly Surf School since 1983 for both children and adults. Don’t forget to pack your swimmers folks… the Sydney waterfront has invited you in!

What about visiting some cool guys?
Do you need a switch on the sight seeing pattern? Okay. Let’s hop back on the ferry and cruise over to Taronga Zoo. Ride the cable car to the top of the hill and follow the paths back down, and have some really cool pictures with the happiest, relaxed set of animals. Taronga Zoo is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Sydney since it is one among the most famous wildlife parks in Australia. Exploring a zoo in summer can be tiring, so make sure that you have water in your hand and also, wear some comfortable clothes. These two can actually help you to be in a balance. But there are cafes and eateries, parent’s rooms, first aid facilities and so on. You can spend almost 4 hours in the zoo. It is open with all Covid safety measures.
If you are all set, come join me in the summer trip along the Sydney domain. We can have some fun. Till then, Bye…
