Let your imagination run wild and choose a theme that will be fun and quirky! The theme party could be conducted anywhere, in a cosy rooftop bar, a rustic barn, an art gallery, a stylish warehouse, or even a decked-out backyard. The key is to think outside the traditional party venues and opt for a location that adds an element of surprise and excitement to your event!

It’s Now or Never

‘Tomorrow never comes’ is true as the saying goes. For all those who think it’s too early to plan a Christmas party, here’s an eye opener. Popular venues are booked well in advance before the Christmas season begins. It’s always best to have a head start, with all the options at your hand. Many corporate firms pre-plan their parties, so before they secure a date, get yourself the first preference. Take for instance, an exceptional venue like Christmas party harbour cruises in Sydney, that offers you a splendid waterfront dining experience. You can easily book online or get in touch with consultants, months ahead of the season with the best rates.

The Earlier You Decide, The More The Choice

Yes, the earlier you plan, the more the choices in front of you. Your ideal venue won’t be served right on your platter at your chosen time. There are many people out there looking for a venue just like you, who are ready to book, months in advance. So, book early so that you are open to more options of venues, decorations, themes, suppliers etc.

Last Minute Solutions, More Confusions

If you need to ensure everything is taken care of, last minute planning won’t do. Booking early gives you ample time to plan all the pre-requisites for a perfect party–everything from finding a venue, theme, catering, entertainment and sending out invitations. It can’t be taken for granted that these will be available to you at the last moment. If you are planning on including celebrity guests or bands as part of your party, you need to confirm their availability on the said date. Once everything is sorted out and under control, you can sit back and chill. The only task left for you is to host the party.

The Early Bird Catches The Worm

Heard about early bird pricing or discounts? Some of the best venues offer this in the festive season. These are discounts for parties booked months in advance. So if you want to save costs, and want to plan your Christmas party the smart way, then do your advance bookings for attractive early bird discounts. Many venues like restaurants, hotels and Sydney Christmas party cruises offer early bird discounts during the Christmas season.

The More The Merrier

Well, set aside celebrity guests and music bands, don’t forget about your guests! You need to secure their dates as well. They might get into other plans or commitments, so get hold of them beforehand. During the months leading to the festive season, people are more likely to be free. That means more invitees in your guest list and a whole lot of invitations that you will need to send out.

Best Office Party Venues Overlooking Sydney Harbour

It’s that time of the year again! The time for spring blossoms to bless the otherwise ordinary laneways. The time for inspiring art and culture events that embrace the true roots of the city. The time to enjoy the outdoors and make the most of the perfect weather. And, the time for annual corporate events and EOFY functions to transpire.

If you’ve been given the tricky job of coming up with a venue for your upcoming work party in a sprawling city like Sydney, it’s about time you pour yourself a cup of coffee and run through this short article.

Why Do it?

0ffice parties mostly happen once a year and despite the usual stereotype of them being absolute snooze fests, it’s safe to say that everyone looks forward to it. It is vital for every company to keep their employees happy and these ‘EOFY’ parties are one way to do so, so it is imperative that you make it a memorable one.

The go-to option.

While this list is in no order, the famous Sydney lunch or dinner Christmas party cruises would easily top it if it was in any. These spectacular cruising restaurants have changed the game entirely when it comes to waterfront venues – offering its guests an upscale dining experience against the glorious city skyline. From the fleet of impressive vessels you can choose a classic paddlewheeler, which stands out due to its old-world charm, vintage look, and theatre-style layout. Easy substitute.

A party doesn’t always have to be a wild shindig in an enclosed space. The best and cheapest alternative to the cruises mentioned above is kayaking. While this is not an actual venue, it rightly deserves an appearance on this list as it is a unique team-building activity. The guided kayak tour on Sydney Harbour during dawn would let you see a completely different side of Sydney, which you won’t see in your normal waterfront venues. Besides being a thrilling first-time activity for many, it can also boost team morale and interpersonal-communications, so try this out for the next team-out!

Aaaand another one.

There’s nothing like sipping on soothing piña coladas with your work buddies and sharing a laugh or two as the sun slowly fades away into the horizon. Can accommodate more than 500 guests? Yes. Stunning views of Sydney Harbour. Absolutely. Depending on your event and capacity you can choose to have the party indoors or outdoors, and make the most of its incredible location! Here, your options are endless – from classy cocktail parties and classic BBQ to past making classes and wilding out DJ & Dance parties.

When I Found The Ideal Christmas Party Venue

Festive seasons can be utilised to make bonds stronger, be it for loved ones or corporates. It was the festive season, and as a start-up company in Sydney, my boss decided to host a Christmas party for our client, the CEO of a multinational company. He was tough to impress, I had heard. I wondered if our association with the company would last. Our company was a starter and we were planning to work together on an important project. I wondered why my boss took the risky bet of calling him for a Christmas party even if it was to impress him. And what was more pressurising I was given the responsibility of taking over the reins of the task at hand. In short, the Christmas party decided the fate of our project and my fate in the company as well.

Brainstorming For The Ideal Christmas Party Venue

So, with the time in hand I asked for suggestions from my workmates, friends and loved ones. From restaurant venues, hotel venues, private dining rooms to pubs. They had nothing new to offer that would give out a unique experience. So, I had to literally pull my hair to find the ideal venue. On a family get together, my cousin was relating about her experience aboard one of the Sydney Christmas party cruises last year. That’s when it struck me. Why not host a party at one of these cruises? I forwarded the idea to my boss who was sceptical about it at first, with the budget in hand. But to bag the big project from a multinational company, he understood it could be worth it.

Beyond  Expectations.

We gave a warm welcome to the client who accepted our Christmas party invite. He expressed his surprise at being invited to such an exceptional venue. I took a sigh of relief. We had passed the first step, I guessed. But I knew this wasn’t the end, they had to have a splendid experience aboard the cruise as well.  The cruise director led us to our seats in no time. A  slow breeze hit our faces, and blew our hair right through the wind, just then.  I noticed that a smile crept over the client’s face as he took in the panoramic harbour views. The views, no doubt, were truly magnificent, from the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and more. A smile crept over my face, my workmates and my boss too seemed impressed.

A Pleasant Dining Experience

After the magnificent harbour views, my hopes were pinned on our dining experience. We led the client towards the multi-cuisine buffet onboard. From healthy salads & entrees to a hot selection of fish, chicken, roasted vegetables & more, we ended our amazing lunch with a personal favourite dessert of tiramisu. Positive vibes soon filled the air, as we sat together and talked over drinks onboard.  We were even lured to capture these moments on the deck, with the harbour views as a spectacular backdrop.

All’s Well That Ends Well

I finally got the hint, it was a roaring success when the client started to speak about our big project. Once we were seated in the mezzanine lounge, he listened to our ideas and suggestions with an open mind. And that was exactly what we were looking out for. The ambience proved to be an added advantage. We cracked the deal, with a firm handshake, the project was confirmed to be ours. Before the party came to a close, my boss didn’t forget to give me a pat on the back. This mesmerising experience aboard the Christmas party harbour cruises in Sydney turned out to be a real boon for my career.

I felt the need to share my experience with you personally, to help you avoid having a hard time finding a Christmas party venue in Sydney. If you have found my blog helpful in any way, please comment below.

Unique Alternatives to Regular Office Parties

christmas party harbour cruises sydney

It’s only a matter of time before companies start throwing office parties or after-hour activities to celebrate a year of hard work and commitment. This time of the year is also an opportunity for employers to show appreciation to their staff. But throwing any mediocre party is not enough. The last thing you want is a room full of awkward handshakes and uncomfortable smiles. It’s up to the host or organiser to assemble a party or event that can build camaraderie among workers and revitalise them to go back to the office on Monday.

Here’s how you can put a different spin to the usual holiday parties!

The Christmas Party Harbour Cruises in Sydney

Cruises offer the perfect setting to connect and show love to each other. Celebrate by bringing a cake and savouring it while looking  at some of the most stunning sights of the city. If you’re looking for your colleagues to canonise you for the most spectacular party ever, then this is it! Whatever the occasion–business meetings, conferences, award ceremonies, workshops–the cruises are an excellent venue. There are many vessels for you to choose from but the one that stands out the most is the classic paddlewheeler. The old-world charm and the overall class which is seen throughout this legendary vessel is second to none and with a multi-course menu, you are guaranteed a memorable time out in Sydney! Add that to the fully -licensed bar and the wide range of beverage upgrades and you got yourself the best harbour cruise for a Christmas party.

How about a themed party ?

Throw it back to the 80s or 70s, to your college days, or even try setting up a theme party of your favourite sitcom. Do a poll beforehand to know which is the fan favourite show among your colleagues or friends.  For example, if you’re hosting a How I Met Your Mother office party, you could rent out a pub or bar for one night and blow the roof off the place. Fill the night with tons of slap bets, yellow umbrellas and never have I evers. You can also surprise them with a laser tag or paintball! Play a couple of games involving a stolen pineapple, life-sized stormtroopers or  blue-french horns, sip on some of the finest scotches and play a series of “ Have you met..”. You can even ask the workers to dress up as their favourite characters and play respective roles!

Give Back

Holidays typically ooze a delightful, vibrant energy but it is also one of the most stressful times of the year, due to the packed schedule and over-expectations. As a boss or organiser, you can cook up something to show your colleagues that you care about them and encourage them to get through this last stretch of the year. Set up an award ceremony, make sure everyone is involved, make prior lists of who gets what so that no one is left behind and maybe even deck up the office. If possible, try making the awards monetary as it will be of great benefit if its during the holidays

Slay a weekend away

If you’re looking to wander away from the big smoke and plan a quick trip away, then there are few options worth considering. If only just for a weekend there’s plenty of options that are synonymous with the hippie lifestyle, from glamping and camping to farm stays. If you have all the necessary gear, just pack everything up and head to some of the most glorious camping locations across the state including The Basin, Glenworth Valley, Mystery Bay Camping Area and more! Sometimes all we need is a little time out in nature with the best company, so don’t even think twice on this pick!
